About

  • Previously a teacher, designer of teaching materials, part-time lecturer and illustrator Rob now works almost entirely in printmaking. He was a member of Birmingham Artists Group and, later, Birmingham Illustrators Group.
  • He studied at Newport (Mon) College of Art and Design, Dip AD Painting with Printmaking, and University College Cardiff.
  • Rob has exhibited at Wednesbury Art Gallery, E.M. Flint Gallery, Walsall, Midlands Arts Centre, Birmingham, and is a Represented Artist at the Old Station Gallery, Rowsley. His illustration and exhibition work is held in several museums and private collections. He has illustrated children’s books and magazines and historical books and journals.
  • Rob’s wood engravings are reflections on his local countryside. His interest is in the more intimate elements which make up the landscape; trees, grasses, animal remains and the many more small pieces of the world which we generally pass by. An increasingly important element is the historical continuity of the land – the echoes of it’s past inhabitants – which Rob is beginning to explore more fully.
