The work in hand – the six cuts intended to be brought together – isn’t going well. The idea is fine but technically it is just not good enough. This is much more demanding than work I have produced previously so I am putting it to one side with the intention of coming back to it at some future date. I have some other ideas which are waiting to be done but I don’t want to play too safe…

We are going to Yorkshire next week to view the Scarborough Museum’s exhibition of their archive of the Printmaker’s Council artwork. It was instigated many years ago, no one is quite sure why, but it should provide a good overview of printmaking from the mid 20th century to the present day. It is pleasing to be part of that collection and the Council is doing a good job of pushing the discipline forward. So, hopefully a few drawings of the east Yorkshire coast and who knows what else will follow.
